Dr. Jason Jenkins
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I was 35 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby I found out he was breech, I was very upset as I had a home birth planned and I was very excited about my birth. I found Dr. Jenkins, who was one of the only chiropractors around who did Websters Technique, I went to a meeting for ICAN in his office that night where he spoke about Websters, and the next day I had my first session. I could tell Dr. Jenkinsand his staff really felt my birth was important as well, the whole staff seemed very likeminded when it came to childbirth.
After a week my baby had turned head down, my son was born after a 6 hr labor at home in the water on Aug 3rd, I caught him myself. I could feel how open my pelvis was, which was something I didn't notice with my other two births (much much much longer births too) It was just the most beautiful amazing birth I could have imagined.
When my son was three days old We were having a very difficult time with nursing, his latch was horrible, he would clamp down instead of suckling. I was so upset as I had problems nursing my other children and had gone to formula the first week. I was so afraid this was going to end up the same way. (something I had promised myself would not happen) My midwife suggested taking the baby back for an adjustment to see if that would help his latch, so I did, right after his adjustment my son Nursed in the office, he actually suckled instead of clamped down, it was a rough not perfect latch still but MUCH improved, it didn't take much to fix the minor things that were left after that.
I remember telling the staff how upset I was and how I always felt so bad about not making it work with my girls, they were very understanding, and told me I would be successful this time at nursing. We have now made it over a month nursing, this is the longest by a lot that I have made it, I plan to nurse him for a very long time! I am just so thrilled!
I have this belief now that if the baby is breech, that it’s no big deal because there is Websters and Dr. Jenkins and they will work with you and commit to your birth, and you. I wish more people knew this option was out there rather than external version and then c section.
I was very lucky to have found out about Websters and pediatric chiropractics, and Dr. Jenkins, and his wonderful caring staff.
Thanks
